We had a great time with Fishtail Ranch Outfitters. Our hunt was based out of Alamosa, CO and despite a few issues with overzealous walk-in hunters, our guides Grant, Bernie, and Travis got everyone in our camp on elk each time out. Even if we hadn't been successful in harvesting elk, I would have been impressed by the effort and knowledge these guys displayed. We took 4x4, 2 5x5, and 6x6 elk in our camp and saw animals every time out because of the efforts of the Fishtail staff getting us into the right places. Be prepared and practice shooting out to 350 yards to maximize your opportunities. We were truly pleased with our experience. Food and camp were as advertised and more than adequate, we had good horses for packing and riding.
Would highly recommend Fishtail Ranch to anyone.
